You are arriving at Johannesburg and your transfer to 24 Vrey Boutique Hotel awaits you in the arrival hall after customs. At 14h00 you will be met at reception by the tour-guide. You are doing a city tour of Pretoria, to get an overview of the city. You visit the Voortrekker Monument and the Kruger House.
Today you are doing sightseeing along the beautiful Panorama Route, which runs along the Blyde River Canyon. This Canyon, one of the natural wonders of Africa, drops 800 meters from the escarpment of Mariepskop and the Three Rondawels, down to the river. We stop at various viewing points and will also have a look at Bourke’s Luck Potholes, which were created by the unusual water erosion. Our drive continues to Thanda Nani Game Reserve at the southern border of Kruger National Park. If time permits, you will enjoy an afternoon game drive on the reserve, accommodation and dinner at the Thanda Nani Game Lodge. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Today you will enjoy a full day game drive in open vehicles in the Kruger National Park. The reserve covers 20000km2, and the big game is dominant here. There are 137 mammal species and the „Big Five“: Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino belong to them. But big herds of antilope, 450 bird species, reptiles, fish and butterflies can also be seen. Low grass and bush vegetation, the Savanna, are mostly seen in the landscape of the Kruger National Park. Your tour continues with a drive to Swaziland. Drive through the Kingdom of Swaziland, known for its mountainous landscape, its friendly citizens and the colourful markets. You might want to visit a market where you can buy original souveniers. A glass factory can also be visited. Accommodation at Mountain Inn. (Breakfast)
Drive to Hluhluwe. An open vehicle game drive with a picnic lunch in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. The animal world is similar to that of the Umfolozi Game Reserve: white and black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, impalas, warthogs, wildebeest, zebras, water- and reed antilopes, leopards, jackals and crocodiles. At Emdoneni Lodge you visit the Cheetah and Caracal Project. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Drive to the Drakensberg area. Here you will find the most beautiful mountain scenery of South Africa. The name originates from a legend, that dragons were living in the caves many years ago. Many years ago, the bushmen were hunting and searching for food in the mountains. We will stay at The Cavern Drakensberg Resort & Spa. Lunch and afternoon tea is included if you arrive in time. After your guided morning walk, the tour continues to Durban. In Durban you will do an orientating City Tour. South Africa‘s biggest harbour city on the Indian Ocean is a busy industry and business centre as well as a holiday paradise. Take a walk through the Indian market and it feels as if you are in India. Durban has the most Indian inhabitats in South Africa – an inheritance from the British colonial time. You will stay at Holiday Inn Umhlanga. (Breakfast)
Transfer to the King Shaka Airport and flight to Port Elizabeth. Port Elizabeth is the economic centre of the Eastern Cape. We do stop at the famous Bloukrans Bridge. The one or the other might want to dare to do one of the highest bungee jumps in the world. The drive continues to the jungle- like Tsitsikamma Forest. Near the Sauer Bridge, a bridge which is crossing the Storms River, are big yellow trees which are up to 850 years old. You will visit the Big Tree, before you continue your journey to Knysna. Overnight at Brenton on Sea. (Breakfast)
The part between Mossel Bay and Storms River is known as the „Garden Route“. This region which is close to the sea has scenic bays, lonely beaches, high rocks, escarpments and jungle like forests. In Knysna you will be able to go window shopping, before your journey continues via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Oudtshoorn is the centre of ostrich-breeding. You pay a visit to the Safari Ostrich Farm, where you will have a guided tour. A special BBQ dinner will be served at the farm. Overnight at Hlangana Lodge. (Breakfast, Dinner)
You visit the Cango Caves, one of the biggest and most beautiful cave systems in the world. Your journey continues through the Small Karroo to Montagu Country Hotel. (Breakfast)
Via the Kogmanskloof Pass you drive into the most well-known wineland areas of the Cape. This area is known for its excellent wines, beautiful scenery and towns. You visit a wine estate and take part in a guided cellar tour with wine-tasting. Continue to Cape Town and Hotel Graeme. (Breakfast)
We depart for the fishing-town of Hout Bay. From there we continue to the Cape Nature Reserve and the famous Cape Point. We continue along False Bay via Simonstown, where we visit the penguins at Boulders Beach and Fischhoek. Thereafter we visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens with its local and exotic plants.
